I love reading. If you’ve been following my blog for any length of time, you’ll know that I loves me a good book. I’m currently
suffering through reading Catch-22 by Joseph Heller. I’ve heard it’s fantastic. So why is this book so difficult to read?
I noticed that an old friend from my Kingston high school days had it listed as one of his favourite books on Facebook. I messaged him and said that I was having a hard time getting through it and he messaged me back and explained it’s good at the end like pizza in the morning. Hmmm … this was my response:
“I figure in the end it’s be worth it, but it’s painful at the time. Kinda like a colonoscopy or labour. LOL.”
That about sums up this book. It’s confusing. The only reason I’m persevering is because my friend Melanie lent it to me and explained that she’d heard it was good but could NOT get through it. I notoriously do not stop reading books even if they’re not so great, so I figured I’d get through it and she explained that she needed me to read it in order to give it such great reviews that she could
trudge through read it herself.
I’m waiting with baited breath for the delicious cold pizza.
